An early adopter to cruise in a metasearch, icelolly.com partnered with global leader, RCCL to drive awareness, direct response, engagement and ultimately qualified traffic and bookings for them in Q4 2018 and Q1 2019. There was also a focus on Caribbean itineraries, more specifically, the Oasis class ships.
Implementation And Creativity
Between 13th August and 30th September 2018, icelolly.com ran a site-wide campaign to promote RCCL. The campaign was undertaken in response to customer feedback and to capitalise on growing momentum in the sector by highlighting the different types of Cruise experiences available, with inspiring and exciting itineraries for new-to-cruise and repeat cruise customers alike.
From dedicated deals to value-added content in search results, homepage takeovers, targeted promotional activities across social, on site, email and other owned media channels were designed for RCCL to maximise brand awareness, drive new customers and inform broader audiences of their products. icelolly.com also added even more to the agreed activity, including TV sponsorship, London Underground OOH, and press exposure.
RCCL achieved a bumper couple of booking days at the start of the campaign and the nationwide coverage across various media channels made a significant impact.
Following the success of this campaign, not only have RCCL booked another two takeovers, but other brands have followed.
